First off, I’d like to take this time to welcome you to HistoryZen: A YouTube channel and companion blog dedicated to, as you may have guessed it, history!
The debut video for this channel is a timely video about a smallpox epidemic that hit the city of Wroclaw, Poland during the summer of 1963. It was a relatively modest epidemic compared to other smallpox outbreaks in world history, but it narrowly missed becoming a much larger epidemic and still managed to leave death, suffering, and disruption of daily life in its wake.
Since there is very little material available on the epidemic in English, I tried my best to translate what I could into English and based the video on the scant amount of English material.
Hope you guys enjoy and stay tuned and subscribe as there will be many more videos to come!
